Who We Are
Boys & Girls Clubs are safe places where kids and teens can learn and grow while having fun. We provide programs from the Boys and Girls Club of America that help young people develop as citizens by instilling:
- a sense of belonging - where they fit in and are accepted
- a sense of usefulness - where they can perform service to others
- a sense of influence - where they are heard and help to make decisions
- a sense of competence - where they find things they can do well
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America have been around in one form or another since 1906. The organizationís name was officially changed in 1990 to reflect our commitment to girls as well as boys. Over 4.8 million young people are served at 4,300 Clubs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and on U.S. military bases around the world.
